It started with a kiss for the Dutch lifestyle label Mexx. As well as sounding romantic, this also laid the foundation for the internationally-successful fashion company which exists today. However, before Mexx established itself in the market in 1986, its founder Rattan Chadha initially founded two separate labels in 1980: The men's line Moustache and the ladies line Emanuelle. A few years later, Chadha’s two collections merged to form a new label - Mexx. Its name coming from the (M) of Moustache and (E) of the Emmanuelle labels, enriched by a double X to seal the merge of the two collections with two kisses.
But Rattan Chadha not only proved his creativity and ingenuity in coming up with the brand name - his collections also perfectly express his originality. Mexx’s fashion is inspired by the modern spirit, a pure joy of life and an urban lifestyle.
